Hi, I'm Charlotte
I help ambitious, freedom-seeking women build thriving online businesses without the overwhelm & imposter syndrome.
MY STORY ↓
My friend, I'm so glad you're here.
If you're looking to learn more about me, I've written it all down for you here. I know that sometimes people want just one specific detail, so I've split my story into chapters, so to say.
Click into the one you're curious about to read.
I never hated my 9-5.
But if I'm honest with myself, I always knew I wasn't going to stay in the "grind", even when I learned so much from the work and had wonderful colleagues.
I didn’t want to have to “make it through“ until the holidays.
I didn’t want to function on auto-pilot on someone else’s timeline.
I didn’t want to be normal if normal meant never having enough time for what I love.
I never hated my 9-5, but I felt constrained and uninspired.
I wanted more freedom in my life, and more meaning in my work.
Honestly, I don't remember exactly how I got to thinking that a different life was possible, but my best guess is this: years of solo-traveling had opened my eyes to different perspectives and ways of life.
I had understood not to just 'accept reality' – reality depends on how you look at it.
In 2019, I moved to a remote island in the South Pacific without a clear plan (no job, no home, no network), but with a whole lot of "I will regret not trying".
I'm sure plenty of people thought that was crazy and naive, but I figured it out. (I ended up living there for 3 years.)
I knew then that I could make big, bold moves work.
There, on an island that is the tiniest dot on the map, I first learned about online business. Once I did, I couldn't stop reading about it. Affiliate marketing, drop-shipping, blogging – you name it, I read about it.
That was when I understood the uncapped potential of the online world. No more glass ceilings. The entire online world could be your customer. You could make money from anywhere. And you could make as much money as you wanted, no matter what your title or nationality.
It’s one of those things you can never unsee.
It felt silly not to get in on it.
But none of those business models felt aligned. One of my biggest values is integrity, and I just couldn't get myself to pick a popular keyword and build a drop shipping business around it because that would 'work'.
I wanted something that aligned with my values and passion.
It took me a while to catch on to something blatantly obvious in hindsight: I was already coaching people in my day job. And I could transfer that online. Why not take my expertise in psychology and build a business around that?
So I went off and researched online, read books, binged podcasts, invested thousands of dollars in courses… I developed a great understanding of how to build this business I was dreaming of.
But despite knowing all that, I was stuck. I just couldn’t get myself to do what I knew needed to be done.
So I thought I needed an even better plan and an even better strategy. Enter more books, more podcasts, more courses...
I kept myself in that loop until, one day, I had to get really honest with myself and admit: I didn’t need a better strategy, I needed a better mindset.
The reason I wasn’t showing up wasn’t because I didn’t know how to, it was because I was deeply afraid to do so.
Afraid to fail, to be judged, to lose stability. Afraid of the mountain of work in front of me, and afraid of not being able to master it all.
Afraid to get uncomfortable.
But then, I did.
I heavily invested in my inner work and got my first coach to support me.
Fast-forward to today, where I have over 100k followers on my social media, have impacted hundreds of lives and worked with so many beautiful coaching clients.
Today, where I run a thriving online business that aligns with my values and passion.
Today, where I wake up and own my day.
Today, where I sit in the sunshine, go to the gym, grab my laptop and work on my business from a cute coffee shop, a rooftop, or a hammock.
Today, where I travel to a new beach or city whenever I want and live as a digital nomad.
Today, where I've taken Mondays off to go scuba diving, or gone hiking on a Wednesday afternoon.
Today, where I work with people who inspire me.
Today, where I live that happy, meaningful and fulfilling life on my own terms, and sometimes I still can’t believe my business enables me to do that.
From the bottom of my heart, I wholeheartedly believe in the transformative power of online business and the creator economy.
But don't think it's as easy as all the business gurus tell you. Strategy this, step-by-step that, blueprint here.
My two biggest issues with *most* business gurus are these:
1) They rigidly teach you what worked for them. It's either their exact step-by-step, or you won't make it. Let me tell you: There is never just one way. A good business coach should enable you to build the business you want to build, not just a copy of their own.
2) They gloss over the mindset part. They give you a few cute affirmations or a quick pep-talk, but entirely lack the depth to address the real barriers holding you back. Especially when you're building something around your expertise, self-doubt and imposter syndrome can hit hard. The biggest barriers are internal.
That’s why I don’t work that way.
I empower female online entrepreneurs to find their best, aligned path towards their desired lifestyle (whether it's through high-ticket services, online courses, digital products, affiliate income...).
And I heavily emphasize the inner, psychological work, because that’s where all the magic is, and continues to be – no matter what ‘level’ you’re at.
Here's a few fun facts and commonly asked questions.
I'm 33. Pisces.
I was born in Germany, but grew up in Switzerland. Lived in Australia and Vanuatu, too.
I speak 5 languages – German, English, Spanish, French and Bislama.
I used to swim and row competitively, and I'm sure that's where my love for water comes from. I love scuba diving, snorkeling and finding any way to be close to the ocean.
I suck at ball sports. I'm convinced something about my hand-eye coordination isn't quite right.
I have a love-hate relationship with Crossfit (more love than hate tbh), and I love anything that involves a heavy barbell.
I've traveled to 46 countries on 6 continents.
I used to practice yoga every day and then got my teaching certification to deepen my practice. Now I balance yoga with other activities, but there is still nothing quite like the yoga bliss.
I'm obsessed with good coffee, have barista experience and used to have a full grinder and espresso machine set up at home. Now I never travel without my Moka pot.
I've lived out of a suitcase for about 18 months. Safe to say, I'm quite minimalistic.
Random things that bring me joy: being asked a powerful question, golden hour, a good book on a beach, snuggles, broccoli, hearing people laugh out loud.
I love that I told you that entire story without talking about my job or credentials, but for those that are curious, here is a rundown of my education and memberships:
No matter what part(s) you read, I hope you found out something new.
If you have a question about me or my work, shoot me a DM on Instagram or an email at hello@themindfriend.net.
Thanks for being here. I'm rooting for you always.
